Today on the 76th Independence Day of the country, the new Chief Minister of the state Dr. Manik Saha, hoisted the national flag at the Assam Rifles ground in the capital. Dr.Manik Saha the Chief Minister extended his sincere greetings to all the citizens of Tripura on this historic day. He said in his speech, 'This year we are celebrating 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav'. This festival will spread among us the nectar of freedom, the sacrifice of freedom fighters, the nectar of new ideas and commitment and inspire self-reliance.” Besides, the Chief Minister said, commemorating the 75th anniversary of Independence as a part of Azadi Ka Amrita Mohotsav, 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign has been organized to hoist the national flag in every house to instill nationalism and patriotism in every citizen of the country. On this grand occasion, I offer my sincere greetings to the brave soldiers of our armed forces and all the members of the security forces of the state and central governments who are engaged in the security of the country on our land, air and sea borders. The priority areas of the state government include overall economic development, creating a source of income in every household and making everyone self-reliant in their own identity'.
After that, the Chief Minister while highlighting the success of the state government so far and the plans of the state government for the future, said, "Despite the financial constraints of the state government, a decision has been announced to give dearness allowance at the rate of 5 percent from July 2022 to encourage the employees of the state. So far 9 thousand 909 metric tons of pineapples from Tripura have been exported to various states of the country including Dubai and Qatar. Many florists have benefited from the Chief Minister's flower plantation scheme and have found alternative sources of income. The forest cover of the state has increased. Tripura Agar Policy has also been approved and this will boost the economy of the state. A total of 4 lakh 96 thousand 408 houses have been given effective tap water connection till 31st July 2022 under Atal Jaldhara Mission. Various measures are being implemented for the development of health services and various infrastructural public welfare works have been undertaken in the future. Major complex surgeries are now being successfully performed in the state. To ensure the safety and security of women in the state, the decision to launch a new helpline for the protection of women and provide free education to girl students in all government degree colleges in the state was recently announced on the day of Rakhi Purnima. In order to improve the financial condition of the farmers of the state, the state government started purchasing paddy directly from the farmers at the minimum subsidized price from the kharif season of 2018-19 financial year.
The Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission project has organized around 335,26 women from rural poor families into 37,24 self-help groups, 1,605 women self-help groups into village federations and 41 self-help groups into cluster federations. The Department of Works is committed to providing the best services to the people of the state besides constructing the infrastructure of the state especially roads, bridges, buildings etc. Dr. BR Ambedkar Merit Award has been given to 24 thousand 505 students of various classes. To assist journalists, newspapers and news media, the 'Tripura Advertisement Policy 2021' has been replaced by the 'Tripura Advertisement Policy 2021' and published on 20 May 2021. From January 2022 to July 31, 2022, the Tripura Police seized 41,677.2 kg of dry ganja, 92,401 bottles of cough syrup, 88,741 tablets and 9,728,23 grams of heroin. During this period, 138 cars and motorcycles were seized. In all, 19 lakh 28 thousand 575 rupees have been seized. In order to improve the law and order situation in the state, initiatives will be taken to recruit various regular posts in the defense administration. Apart from this, will be appointed as a special executive post to strengthen the defense administration. 20 new Anganwadi Centers to be set up in resettlement area for Bru refugees, 10 new Anganwadi Centers out of 20 centers will be set up within next 100 days. The English medium college will start from the academic year 2022-23 in the old Diet (DIET) building at Kumaritala in Agartala.
